The Painted Word 3

This is a wrack left by the Rappahannock River when it receded this past spring. I dragged it back to the house and pressed it under heavy stones for two weeks, then incorporated it into a fanciful portrait of a river in flow. Among the voyagers are a beechnut, a walnut, an acorn, a tulip poplar bud, a hornet's nest and various insects. I put it in the car and a wren flew in to take a look.
